A better ending - after the Stanley Cup Final

June 20th, 2006

A better ending for Canes, and a bitter ending for oilers.

After all, we win.

I can totally understand 19000 fans chanting and refusing to sit down throughout the game, because I was standing throughout the game watch, except I was cheering to the TV. It was so nerve racking - Jane’s face is so close to TV so that she could find the small puck flying around. The torture technically ended 1 minute earlier - after Williams shot an empty net goal to seal the victory.

Canes totally changed in the game 7, they were more physical, they skated faster, they were more confident and determined. Oilers started the game really weak, totally not ready when Canes made the first goal - in the first 6 games, Oilers always score first. Once the mental game was settled, all the rest simply fulfilling the excitement. If without the mistake of referee on disallow a goal by Canes, the win should be 4:1.

No doubt we will go to the parade tonight to celebrate. Glad to be a caniacs!
